A Sunday Walk

It was such a beautiful day that we decided to go for a nice long walk, with a bit of mushroom spotting along the way, I have never seen quite so many varieties, it's obviously a good year mushrooms and toadstools.

Sunday Tea with Aunty Trish

Auntie Trish bless her heart, decided it would be a good idea to reinstate the old tradition of Sunday Tea and invite all the family.
Having not done it for a long while, she had made enough food to keep us all going for a week, in fact various members of the family ended up taking a plate of something home, with instructions such as, "Take this for your lunch tomorrow". I had a chocolate cake, some coleslaw and slices of Spanish potato omelet all very yummy.

This is a selection of some of the family members.
Sorry to any members of the family that I missed but don't panic, I am sure now that Auntie Trish is getting the hang of things again, we can expect a repeat performance.

Footballers V Cricketers

I have hated football most of my life, So why was I now at a football game taking photos?
Mayfield Football and Cricket club had decided it would be a good idea to play each other at their own game. So this was the footballers slaughtering the cricketers at football. I thought it would be a great opportunity to capture another village event on film, with the added bonus of my eldest son playing.
I arrived at the game to find it already underway and no sign of my son and his mate who had not actually managed to make it back from Nottinghill Carnival, still sleeping it off in London somewhere.
Oh to be young again!!

I think this might need to be used rather a lot.

Would he not be more efficient if he stood up?

For those of you that don't know, the footballers are wearing green.

Oops, that's a goal!

Lets try some rugby tactics, see if they help.

Change of goalkeeper, the last one was shit!!

Save!! Hooray things are looking up.

Lad in the green, Adam Johnson. Now, I'm no expert in football but I would have to say that this young lad is a mighty fine footballer.

Fine pair of pins Whatters.

Rob! You really should put that away!!

Can I try your shorts on, these ones are a bit tight on me!

Is that allowed?

Nifty bit of work.

Well you can't say they didn't try.

No offence Frenchie but for a bigger lad your pretty nibble on your pins.

Ouch!!

Raj on the side lines "Come on lads, what ya playing at"

Ouch! With a grin on his face.

This was the day that I decided that football was much more fun when your taking photos
and when you know a lot of the men that are playing, in fact I think I may even have another go.
So if you guys have a game coming up let me know and I will pop along.
Apologies to the goalkeeper and defenders of the football team for the lack of photos but I had a sneaky feeling that you may not be that busy. Final score 7-1, have a guess at who won?
