May Day in Mayfield

Just trying to catch up and process some old photos. Many moons ago Mayfield always had may day celebrations but for some reason they just fizzled out. The Chamber of commerce decided that it would be a good idea to reinstate and this was now the third year that they had been held. The high street is closed off to traffic for the whole afternoon, stalls line the street, where you can purchase anything from a  yummy cake from the W.I (always the best cakes), arts and crafts and many a stall selling raffle tickets, where you may be  lucky enough to win an unwanted Christmas present.
On this particular May Day, we were also celebrating my middle son's eighteenth birthday in the garden. Unfortunately it drizzled most of the day but we put up a couple of gazebo's, lit the fire pit and all went well, photos of this to follow.
